We specialise in sourcing natural fibres from worldwide origin markets and selling them to a full spectrum of clients who are involved in processing, manufacturing and tailoring the finest fabrics or finished garments.
Our group strength comes from the diversity of our businesses, the stability offered by centralised group support functions and the strategic overview we gain from integrating our market knowledge.

Over 50 years
Founded by Raymond Seal, The SIL Group remains a family business and is now managed by his sons Andrew and Jeremy. A third-generation is now involved across the business ensuring continuity and a genuine passion for textiles.
The family’s uncompromising standards and decades of experience bring stability and confidence to a Group whose businesses can trace their heritage back over 250 years. In some cases, these businesses are still located on their original site.
We know that a magnificent heritage is no guarantee of future success, so every business within our Group is working independently to remain relevant to today’s markets. We do this by introducing product and process innovations, identifying global trends, investing in advanced technology and responding quickly to client needs.

Promoting the UK Fashion and Textile Industry
We are proud to promote the UK fashion and textile industry through our trade bodies and partners. Our short film in collaboration with UKFT features a number of our group business, in particular Seal International, our fibres division specialising in cashmere and mohair and Stanley Mills Weavers recognised as one of the finest weavers of luxury cloths producing worsted suiting cloth and woollen jacketing and coating. They have an enviable reputation as only a handful of specialist weavers of fine mohair fabrics recognised around the world.
